Transfers

All new transfer applications will be completed 100% online this year. Please have the following documentation ready for submission: 
  • Current Military Orders, DD 214, or Address of the Location of Federal Employment 
  • Current Report Card 
  • Current Attendance Record
  • Current Discipline Report  - if no official discipline record is available, a letter from the previous school must be provided outlining discipline history or stating there has been no history of disciplinary action. 
  • Special Services Documentation - 504, ESL/BIL, Dyslexia, Speech, G/T, IEP 
  • Copies of Current State Standardized Testing Scores
 
Applications will be available beginning May 3rd at 8:00am. If you do not have access to technology to submit the application a work station will be available at both campuses. Please contact the school front office to schedule an appointment. Please check this page frequently for updates.  
 

RFISD Families,

 

We will start the enrollment and transfer process for next school year soon and wanted to review some important highlights in the process to remember. Paper applications will be sent home on Thursday, March 7, 2024 and Friday, March 8, 2024.

 

RFISD is required to serve all students living on Randolph Air Force Base. After establishing how many seats, services, and staff are available to ensure needs are met for Randolph AFB students, we will consider transfer applications based on priority order. This priority is determined based on the level of funding received through Impact Aid funds since that is a primary funding source for RFISD. RFISD does not receive any funding through state property taxes as most other public school districts in Texas receive.

 

Transfer consideration priority order:

  1. Active-duty or USC Title X military connected students residing on federal property other than Randolph AFB.
  2. Active-duty or USC Title X military connected students residing off federal property.
  3. Civilian personnel working on federal property.
  4. Retired military (20 years of service) and not working on federal property.

 

Other criteria that may exclude a transfer student from immediate approval:

  • Grades and academic record
  • Attendance, including tardies and early sign-outs
  • Discipline records

 

No transfer students will be accepted if they would require hiring of additional staff beyond the allotment made for students residing within the boundaries of Randolph Field ISD.

 

Applications for current students for next year will be due by 3 pm on Wednesday March 27, 2024. Applications received after that date will automatically be placed on the list with new transfer applications, losing priority order for returning students consideration.

 

Applications will be reviewed, and you will be notified prior to the end of the school year that your application is approved for next year, placed on a wait list until early August for consideration, or does not meet qualifications at this time.
