Director of Community Engagement & Public Relations
RFISD Director of Community Engagement & Public Relations, Amanda Bauer, began her career in public education nineteen years ago at Randolph. Ms. Bauer grew up in a family of educators, and from the time she could talk, she was “playing school” with her dolls and stuffed animals. She knew from an early age that she wanted to be a teacher, so when she was hired to teach high school English at Randolph, it was a dream come true.
Ms. Bauer attended Texas Lutheran University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education (English concentration) and Dramatic Media. She later received her Master of Education in School Administration from Lamar University.
During her time in the classroom, Ms. Bauer taught a variety of English courses and related electives. She also sponsored the RHS Student Council, National Honor Society, and eight academic UIL events. Additionally, she served as a campus administrator at Randolph Secondary Schools for ten years, first as the associate principal and then as the vice principal. Ms. Bauer also spent the past eleven years as the director of the outstanding RHS Cadette Dance Team.
Ms. Bauer cherishes the experiences she has gained working at Randolph and getting to serve the families of those who serve our country. She is most proud of the relationships she has built during her nineteen years in the district. She loves the fact that so many of her former students still keep in touch with her and share all of the amazing things they have accomplished since leaving, which she believes is a true testament to the special connections that are built at Randolph.
Outside of school, Ms. Bauer enjoys spending time with her family and friends, participating in her neighborhood book club, events committee, and ladies’ social group, attending church, cooking, baking, trying new restaurants, and traveling.
