Director of District Support Services

MaloneDr. Mark Malone, the Director of District Support Services for Randolph Field ISD, has been in the field of education for thirty-five years, and, for the past eleven years, served as the Principal of Randolph Secondary Schools.

Prior to beginning his career as an educator, Dr. Malone was a member of the United States Air Force but eventually chose to become a teacher because he wanted to help students reach their highest potential and have the chance at a better life provided by quality education.

Before coming to Randolph in 2013, Dr. Malone worked in several area school districts in a variety of roles, including social studies teacher, coach, department chair, and assistant principal. He received his Bachelor of Arts, Master of Education, and Doctorate of Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio, all of which helped prepare him for his various roles as an educational leader.

Professionally, Dr. Malone is most proud of creating a school with a mastery-based grading system, which focused on each student learning without leaving other students behind. He also ensured all students had numerous educational and extra-curricular choices, while being better prepared than many students coming from other schools. His motto as an educator has always been to “do what is best for kids,” and he has modeled that throughout his career.

Outside of work, Dr. Malone enjoys traveling, writing, playing games, and spending time with his grandchildren.
