Athletic Director

Elliott Ortiz first began his time at Randolph as a student many years ago and eventually returned to become a teacher and coach.

Coach Ortiz received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Sport Science from Texas State University and his Master of Science in Athletic Administration from Arkansas State University.

During his twelve years working at Randolph, and thirteen total years in education, he has served in a number of positions, including PE teacher, health teacher, history teacher, head girls’ basketball coach, and, in his current role, as the RFISD Athletic Director and head football coach.

Coach Ortiz chose to become an educator because he wanted to help students grow and see their potential, much like many of his coaches did when he was a student at Randolph. He understands what it’s like to be part of a military family because of his own experiences, and his favorite thing about working at Randolph is getting to serve the military community.

When he’s not working, Coach Ortiz enjoys spending time with his family.
