Just like Signing Day for athletes, the inaugural Texas STEM Signing Day celebrates students across Bexar County as they make their commitments to education programs focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
The event recognized outstanding high school seniors who plan to attend a two- or four-year college or university and pursue a STEM degree or program, as well as graduating eighth grade students who plan to select the STEM Endorsement as part of their high school graduation requirements.
There is a high demand for STEM talent in the United States, and STEM Signing Day is an opportunity to acknowledge the top STEM talent in the county in front of Boeing corporate leaders and community partners. Selected students were invited to a ceremony and special presentation, where they were recognized in front of their families and esteemed guests. Students signed "letters of intent" to their chosen STEM field.
