Revised Bell Schedule

Dear High School and Middle School Parents,

This is a joint message from Dr. Malone, HS Principal and Ms. Fox, MS Principal,

The state of Texas requires, by law, that school be in session for 75,600 minutes.  With the late "snow" start and the "ice" day, we would not meet the requirement unless we made an adjustment to our calendar or bell schedule.  After meeting with our campus improvement committees, which includes parents, a community business representative, a district level representative, and campus teachers, it was recommended that we add a little time to each day rather than take a holiday from our students, staff, and families or add a day at the end of the school year .  The attached document is the new bell schedule.  School will now be from 8am-3:32pm.  We have added a minute to each instructional period other than 1st period (already a bit longer) throughout the day for a total of 6 more minutes a day.  Athletics and other extra-curricular activities will not be affected by the bell schedule change.

The new bell schedule will go into effect on Monday, January 29th and continue through the remainder of the school year.

The second bit of news is that with a new continuing resolution in effect, the Youth Center programs are operational again.

If you have any questions, please contact you child's campus.
