Formulating Our Futures

STEM LOGO

Randolph Field ISD’s “Formulating Our Futures: All SySTEMs Go” project is designed to build STEM programming within RFISD and support our students as they reach higher levels of academic achievement.  Over the course of this project, RFISD will be taking a multi-pronged approach to building STEM capacity within our students in order that they are better prepared to pursue courses of study and careers that fall under the STEM umbrella. Strategies include the implementation of a formal tutoring program, offering additional STEM related extracurricular activities, providing students with learning spaces designed to support student-centered, active teaching and learning strategies, strengthening pedagogical frameworks, providing students with 21st century tools, and developing a summer enrichment program.  Outcomes of the All SySTEMs Go project will result in higher student achievement.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics conducted 10-year employment projections and predicts that growth in STEM-related careers is expected to rapidly outpace growth in non-STEM related fields over the course of the next decade. On average, STEM jobs pay a considerable premium over non-STEM related jobs. We pride ourselves at RFISD in preparing students for the world in which they are going to be living and competing, and are looking forward to the opportunities this project will provide.
